Chapter 4: Part 1

Aveau's teens were relatively uneventful. They officially began on a nice afternoon, when Roketi threw her a party.

Roketi found the time to bake her birthday cake himself, as had become his habit. He was really getting the hang of cooking! Things set on fire: 0.

… Of course, one of the first things teenage!Aveau did was take a selfie.

In truth, the party was kind of strange, because at some point everyone decided that a kicked-over trash can was the most exciting thing ever and decided to hang out around it.

In many ways, their routines carried on.Roketi was still working on his ship, constantly adding new upgrades. His job was also going well, though he eventually faced a whole dilemma. He had to choose whether to align himself with space authorities or become a smuggler. Roketi had never considered himself to be a criminal. He’d never run into trouble with the law, and was definitely a law-abiding citizen. But it just didn’t seem right to be some kind of space cop. It didn’t seem right that Sims were already enforcing their own laws when there was so much they didn’t know about alien life yet.

The encounter he’d had with a smuggler earlier in life replayed constantly in his head. The space cops had been too zealous over what wasn’t such lifechanging cargo, and he’d never forget helping the alien. There was the situation with that rebel moon, too. The stories he’d heard from the inhabitants would always stay with him.

He chose to become a smuggler.

Aveau was still trying to take good care of the island. It was now attracting more poachers and litterbugs than ever, but now they took Aveau more seriously when she confronted them.

Confronting them in her alien form probably helped. Also, this is an unexpected litterbug.

She also took up gardening. She’d found some wild taro roots and pineapples on her trips around the islands. Her efforts to grow pineapples were less than successful, unfortunately, but the taro roots did pretty well!

She even fought an unending battle with the sulphur puddles near the volcano. It wasn’t an easy task.

... It wasn't easy for me either. This is the most annoying thing to clean up, you have to make Sims do it a bunch of times in a row.

Giana became more than a BFF, she became a true soulmate. Whatever that means.

Her friend Marco wasn’t doing as well. His parents died during Aveau’s teens, and she tried to be there for him. He lived with his sisters, but just spent a lot of time at Aveau’s for some reason, going as far as sleeping over on the couch every once in a while.

Certain things totally broke the routine of their days... like encountering a shark. Thankfully, it didn't dissuade Aveau from swimming in the ocean.
